Easy to do. If you host your own site on your own server you need to secure your box. If somone else hosts it send them an E-Mail and tell them to secure it.

Most people run unsecured web servers out of the box and dont bother to patch it up. To easy to get on the internet and find exploits to deface a website.

Yea just make sure they are aware it was defaced. And they should have your site backed up so they can put it back to the way it was.

You were hacked by the taliban whoo hoo, and ya you script is old you should patch it! Old php and asp scripts are exploited and then the whole world can find out how to get in!
