Regulator/rectifier

If the aluminum plate is missing can you just bolt the reg/rectifier to the subframe without it. what is the plate for? Also, if the reg/rect is just laying in the tray (can that **** up the bike?

yea if your not careful and you don't have the plate installed then there is a good chance...... shut the **** up biotch.

dont know what bike u got , on my 2 hondas the metal plate acts as a heat sink to transfer heat away from the voltage regulator.

A reg/rec unit needs to be mounted in an open area so it can cool itself.

Not running the metal backing plate on my F4I reg/rect... Runs fine....

have mine ziptied to the side of the subframe on my 636! no problems at all.
