hand brake questions

will a cbr1000rr clutch master work for a hand brake? if it will what else do i need to make it work? i have no idea how to set up a hand brake so if you could dumb it down for me that would be great. i'm looking for the cheapest way possible to setup a hand brake. pics of your setup would be good too. thanks everyone.

i already checked hohey and they don't have a bracket for a 1000rr. they have one for a 954 though, would that fit a 1000rr?

hmmm need to change that. don't have the 6 just the 1krr now. budget cutbacks only allow for one right now.

Re: hand brake questions

ya, the first thread is a sticky on handbrakes, how did ya miss that one?

you'll learn everything from just goign through the first 5 pages or so of stunt discussion. it also helps if you know someone locally that has one, and have them help you. most people don't understand when you explain over the internet.

you have a few months, start reading and you'll figure it out. try HAI shop, www.haibikeshop.com and get the handbrake line kit with adapter, once you get that and have a master cylinder you are all set.

any fn master will work, you're a newb, you won't notice the difference between any 2 handbrakes yet.

Re: hand brake questions

it pains me to be nice, like swallowing razor blades....

you have prolly the best HB master with the 1000rr master (some say better than Brembo 16x18), get a 54" steel braided line, banjo bolt, GPTech/Full Throttle adapter, install, bleed, live happily ever after
