Ok , f4i is still idling
I changed almost brand new complete throttle bodies , so its still running funny idle but lil much better than before however do you think it might be fuel pump??? that might cause a funny idle ?

Re: Ok , f4i is still idling
Have u tried running some injecter cleaner through it. Mine was acting a lil weird from time to time with the idle. Someone told me to burn a bottle of FI cleaner through it. Finally after i used about a full tank of gas, it cleared up....my 2 cents...=-)

Re: Ok , f4i is still idling
yeah i already changed new throttle bodies already , so its still idling the s ame thing up n down so it doesnt want to stay in same one pace.
i already cleaned out everything before i put in it. so what kind FI cleaner do you use ?

i had the same problem. its usually something stupid and the most basic thing.
mine was cuz the stock idle wasnt adjusted down to the stock setting. a lot of times it could be a vacuum line maybe ripped or have tear.

yeah , the hoses are in good shape no leaks ...it is gettin me pissed cuz i ve been workin on it for like a week now. someone said it might be fuel pump so its the same problem i dont know oh also it gets hot fast too...havok might be right but i dont know how to get skined fixed.

Re: Ok , f4i is still idling
I used some FI cleaner from wal-mart when mine was acting stupid. About ur fuel pump, can u put a pressure gauge on it and see how much its putting out. Theres a tool that u can use to put on it and measure the pressure. That way u will know for sure if the pump is going bad....=-)
Fuel Pressure Regulator is what im getting at. That can cause a problem, however MOST of the time it causes more problems than just odd idling. I'm seen it shut cyinders 3-4 off due to it not flushing fuel back to the tank, fuel was just sitting in the motor......Its worth a check though, just to make sure u dont over look anything...=-)

Re: Ok , f4i is still idling
Bro... i wish i could help ya out on this one but honestly i have no ******* clue what could be wrong besides whats already been said (somethin stupid like vaccuum line or unplugged sensor).
For Poor performance at idle.. the service manual says (in this order):
check ingition timing... (timing is bad)
check starter valve syncronization...
inspect fuel flow... (could be faulty fuel pressure regulator)
inspect injectors...
perform spark test... (could be: fouled plugs, faulty ECM, faulty ignition coil, faulty engine stop switch, faulty ignition pulse generator, faulty ignition switch, loose or disconnected ignition system wires.)

yo , now i can ****** ride for the weekend ...finally everything runs smoooooth like glass.
If it wasnt respect then i would have struggle by now but now thank god fuel injection cleaner works better now
KJ: theres gunna b killa streets this saturday in bostom AC

Ride it alot tonight, try to run as much gas through it as u possibly can. Like i said mine took me running almost a whole damn tank through it, gradually cleareed up.....Just want u 2 make sure it definately cleared up....=-)

What kind did you end up using?

Re: Ok , f4i is still idling
we use yamaha ring free; that is actually the first thing that yamaha does when a bike comes in with rough idle or low cylinder pressure. works awsome.
also, for my car, the best (recommended and used by BMW techs) is chevron with techron. black bottle. awsome stuff. My best friend is a BMW tech and that's what they use first before tearing down a car.
also, i would looking into the fuel pressure regulator. they are somewhere around 20$ and go bad often. they seem to cause rough idling and the bike won't top out completely...almost like running on 3 cylinders. yours might be on it's way and the injector cleaner could have cleaned it up for the time being.
