Re: subcages

About the only way I can see it helping from breaking rear pegs/brackets is because now the force is actually distributed on both brackets, instead of just one.

But even then, for the f4i, I don't see it as a necessity, they aren't that flimsy.

Jesus, learn to read.

All I said was that I didn't really see how they'd help them from breaking (as now there in no flex at all, SOMETHING has to give) but then I realized that now the impact goes to both brackets which makes more sense.

But as I said, regardless, the f4i brackets aren't as flimsy as the 636 ones, I've highsided/lowsided my bike hundreds of times and never broke a bracket, just 2 pegs.

Re: subcages

yeh the f4i tabs on the subframe look way stronger than my 636. but where mine keep braking is around the mounting points for the pegs so i think having a steel mounting point around the peg would help a lot

Re: subcages

OMR can't get his hands on a 01 R1, and refuses to fly himself and his welder to NY to make me one so I have to drive 5 hours to get one of these guys made.
(unless he changes his mind and fly's his **** out here)

Re: subcages

if he is gonna make you one custom you should get him to raise the cross bar so it doesn't hit the tire ....

and i have seen a few subcages where the pegs are moved forward and up from the stock position and that is not what you want if any thing move them back and down

Its not gonna be a custom one. He's gonna use my bike and after he makes mine there gonna be available for the same year R1 owners.
