the tabs for the subframe are stupid small and break. so i put a flat alloy straps from the rear set to the pillion peg and havent had any probs since. and i have messed up a few coasters aswell.

still got my original motor and she is still goin stong like day 1. rev limiter coasters e.t.c will kill ANY engine.

the frames crack in a few places so i have had 3mm plates welded on the inside of the frame were they crack. been stong since. they also crack at the neck. just welded it up. dont know what else to do there and its been fine also.

stunt what you got and modify what you have to, to make it work

I hope its strong cause its ugly as hell. Wouldn't be caught riding a bike that needs steel plates on the subframe or frame for that matter.

I have to do something during work.

As far as the "****" talking, I think I'm no where near the caliber of stuntlife.com.

yea man, my buddy braced up his subframe and popped the mounts off his frame-frame.

The frames are made from melted down Korean lawn chairs and you cant win.

are there more threads about the main frames snapping in half lately? holy ******* ****

they are some underrated circle wheelie bikes, anyone thats circled an 05 up knows what i mean, they lug lower than any year 636. the tail plastic breaks from standing on it, and the upper fairing stay is made out of the same reject lawn chair aluminum that the frames are, and break like nothing

Re: Tired of Broken Gsxr subframes? This will fix that

2008 GSXR sub frames are JUNK.....

I Snapped my rear subframe in half today. I was rolling less than 5 mph catching idle, Dipped past 12 0'clock and kissed the 12 bar & snap, she broke......

I know that people on this site were complaining about how the 06-07 sub frames were junk because it was a three piece subframe design and had the rink-a-dink aluminum basket at the tail.

The 08-09 gsxr's have a two piece sub frame with out the aluminum basket at the tail (except the 1000). Thinking that Suzuki changing the rear subframe design would make it a little stronger.... Nope, still weak as all the other sub frames..

Lucky me, my back up sub frame came in right before i went stuntin, so now ill have the broken sub frame re-welded and beefed up...

Not that i know of but if there was a company making them they would probably charge an arm and a leg for one.

But luckily i have a friend thats a professional tig welder and i will have him beef it up and reinforce it for me.

For the meantime i have another stock sub frame till i get the broken one beefed up.

I dont know how many people are stunting 08' gixxrs but giving you a heads up that the sub frame is still junk.

ya i think my subframe broke because when i tapped the 12 bar i left off the rear brake and the 12 bar lifted up about 8 inches, at the same time i slipped off and hit the throttle a lil so the bike came back down on the corner of the 12 bar and then high sided.

So it found a weak spot in the sub frame.
