Re: F4i Pickup?

it actually works well. i didn't believe it since the oil pickup is in the rear, but when running slow stuff with the bike high the oil is, in fact, in the rear of the motor sloshing around and air gets into the pickup along with oil, not 100% oil.

this pickup has a baffle that keeps the oil in the pan where hte pickup is, not in the transmission area where oil normally flows during wheelies.

after installing it on my f4i the bike is smoother on throttle and pulls harder down low. it made a noticable difference in smoothness during idle stuff. The only thing i can attest this to would be the fact that the oil pickup is submerged fully in oil all the time so there are no hickups of oil.

i do not feel any remorse for purchasing one.....i think the baffle is a good idea on any bike. even with the oil pickup for the gixxers, i think they still need a baffle because the oil flows into the transmission when in a high wheelie and air can still get into the pickup.

This cat is rite... The f4i pick up is in the rear. also you can spin the oil spot that sucks the oil out of the pan. It faces to the front and you spin it to face it to the back it will suck the oil fron 2'' lower then the stock and cost you some RTV and time only. You will pop a F4i motor from rev limiter **** thats the only thing.

Re: F4i Pickup?

i bought the pick up kit (oil pan baffel and oil pick up relocator) after i blew my motor. no problems since... for all of you that say you don't need 1, do you have a gage cluster? cause when i would hold it on the 12 bar for more than a couple seconds the oil light would come on.... an unless your doing lower than balance point wheelies then i would really reccomend 1... the stock pick up picks up from the rear but the relocator turns the opening on the pick up to the towards the rear giving about 2 inches further towards the rear than stock *edit jus read the replys b4 me*(and the kit comes with a round thing with a tab that you bend into the stock location keeping the pick up from spinning back around)... an for all the non believers i dare you to hit rev limiter on the 12 bar for a couple minutes... an then tell us users that its not needed....
