so this all happened just over a month ago... i live in the boring *** midwest. we were all riding on the back roads, there were two new guys with us that only 1 person new. everyone was on sportbikes exept one of the new guys, he was on some yamaha cruser that had a drive shaft not a chain or a belt. (thats the only thing i noticed about the bike) so were going around a turn: my friend was in front. he lost it and fell, his bike went in the ditch and he fell in the road... this other guy that was behind him named SHAWN, couldn't stop and ran the guy in front (jermey) over. then he feel also, he had a little rash and the two bones in the lower part of one leg were both broken. not that bad right? my friend jeremy was still face down not moving in the middle of the road. so i ran to him first. he already had his helmet off by the time me and my friend got there. we both held him still and tried to keep him awake untill the ambulance got there.... the guy with the broken leg needed surgery. big deal. my friend got to the same hospital as the other guy and they could not stablize him. so he took a helicopter to chicago... he had broken: every rib on the right side, a shattered pelvis, both hips broken, a broken femur, a broken foot, four shattered vertibres in his lower back, a colapsed lung, a lacerated spleen, and a tear in his liver.. yea lots of **** right? the other guy has a broken leg. my friend jeremy should recover in 3 - 4 years (fully to be able to be a body builder like he was before the accident) i found out tonight that the guy that did the running over SHAWN HANSEN is suing jeremy for medical bills. this guy SHAWN HANSEN didn't even have a M class license he was riding his dads bike. i'm going to kick this kid in the knees when i see him, if i ever do. am i wrong??? who fuc*ed up worse? i think it was SHAWN HANSEN (630)254-6394 if anyone want to mess with him... yea that a long story but i'm drunk and angry.

they said he should recover fully. i called and texted him tonight to, be he didn't answer or respond. my friend is done with 4 of the 6 surgerys he will need and they all went ok. so he should be good to go in a long time. but this situation sucks. he also lost a big toenail on one foot, and his right arm, back, and right leg looked like raw meat at the grocery store. **** that other kid!

if the guy was following to close to react then it is like rear ending someone and that **** is the ******** fault, good luck tryin to win that **** in court. i know in oklahoma and kansas if u rear end someone it is your fault no matter what so i would not worry about it cause a good judge should throw that **** right out

know kinda how he feels, but i didnt get hurt even close to that. we were riding in a group and the guys in front made a turn but i was in the far lane and my "friend" was behind me so i slow down, but realize i cant make the turn so i stay in my lane so i dont cut across the other lane when SMASH. my friend runs into the back right side of me and goes flying. he broke his femar and was in the hospital for about 4 or 5 weeks. i visited him alot. ive only known him for about a year maybe. i was about the only one to visit him beside his parents. even his so called best friends from high school didnt visit him hardly at all. well i here hes telling everyone that he was in the right lane and i turned in front of him. well i still visit him anyway. he even told me that non of his friends except me have been talking to him anymore. well after he gets out of the hospital... more details but dont need to tell those... i take him out to places and pay for his food and stuff like that cause i know he cant work. after about 2 weeks i get a call from his lawyer and he tells me my "friends" story that is bs. the police report has it all correct and the lawyer is trying to change it all up. well i tell him the truth and that those are lies. i tell him good luck with those lies and hang up. how about that. even though my story is not as bad as your buddies by far i figured i would vent a little too.

boring is a state of mind......it's never boring around here because i do'nt allow it. if i did, i too, would be boring. just a thought....

 

Honestly....without being there, noone can say who was right or wrong. Was Jeremy still sliding when he got ran over?(moving targets are hard to avoid) Was it in mid-corner?(If Shawn had swerved, would there be a possibility of a head on from oncoming traffic) How close were they when Jeremy went down?(If it was 15 feet or less, good luck avoiding a tumbling body) I'm just trying to be realistic. I feel for your friend, it's a shitty circumstance, but you can't expect us(without knowing the specifics) to take a side and call this Shawn guy and tell him how stupid he is when we MIGHT have done the same thing....................Anyway, I wish Jeremy a speedy recovery.

 

Yep... here in OK thats exactly how it is NO MATTER WHAT... the reasoning is that you should allow yourself enough distance to avoid any potential hazard and if you dont your at fault... maybe YOUR boy can sue him if that law is in place where you are and i hope ya boy heals quick...

 

+1. in 05 a buddy of mine ate it in a turn and took me out. i didnt sue him or blame him but i definately wouldnt have crashed had he not been ******* around and laid his bike out. as long as everyone is okay thats all that matters

 

that **** should get thrown out, if he was riding to close to react to what happened in front of him, its really his fault. just like JB420 said, its like rear ending someone in a car....
