Power Wheelies vs Clutching

First, I've tried searching; everything says "not found."

Second, which is "safer" for someone learning to stunt. A power wheelie requires less technique but is at much higher speeds. Clutching it up requires more technique and gives a large possibility to looping it.

What do you think?

That's what I think. I got into an argument with a co-worker yesterday. He swore power wheelies were safer. I can't do either yet so I thought I would ask.

hmm lets see doin way to fast in a pow pow or and risk killing yourself or clutching it up and tapping your rear brake if you get too high......i think i'd rather clutch it and get it into place and tap the brake if i get too high

Clearly a dumbass. Plus clutching just is better for the bike, your safety, and is cooler

Re: Power Wheelies vs Clutching

i wouldnt say clutching is better for the bike....power wheelies to my knowledge have no negative effects on the bike itself while some peeps burn out clutches when they are learning ......the bottom line is clutching is safer and allows for much more control over the bike while engaging in a wheelie!!!

Clutching IS better because when power wheeling, you're using a LOT more revs to get the bike up, and when it is up, you're already smacking the revlimiter. Not exactly good for the bike.

Clutching involves only a twist when you clutch it up, and then when you're up, the motor's not screaming and you've got some space to work with.
