Re: Power Wheelies vs Clutching

wait, my bad, it shows "roll on power wheelie"
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0

watch it anyway, i think he shows clutchin also (my sound is out on my laptop) but he shows you how to bring it aup a little at a time, that may help you for learning, or at least something to look at to get the idea.

Re: Power Wheelies vs Clutching

Yeah I've seen that video, as have most peeps. Its like the first video that shows up when you type in "wheelie". Its a good instructional video, but it misses a lot of details.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, everyone who wants to see what a basic, simply wheelie looks like, and how to get there, should watch it.

What do you mean which one is safer? Isn't that common sense? Falling at 80mph or 15MPH...

Re: Power Wheelies vs Clutching

I've got a 900rr and my **** wouldn't roll-up till i put a +11 on the back. I started by clutchin up. Alittle rough at first till I got the hang of it, then they were smooth and easy. Only reason I got a +11 (this week) is so I can start learnin high chair ****.

just because they "bounce" (we actually call that preloading) doesn't mean tehy aren't clutching. i pre-load (bounce for all you hill-jacks out there) my slow stuff so it just goes up smoother and faster. i still use my clutch though, it's all timing. i NEVER bounce and just slam the throttle...i time it and work with my pre-load and clutch. that is probably what you are seeing.

i started racing sportbikes in 98, i never powered it up, from the start i always used the clutch to get the front wheel in the air.

you must not have your wheelie button enabled on that R1. The special 184093hp models came with a "hidden" valve, you have to enable it and check it from time to time so you can add more fluid. As for the GF... she took a trip out to Cali and met me.... she said she's glad she found a real stunt rider who could get it up
