Clutching IS better because when power wheeling, you're using a LOT more revs to get the bike up, and when it is up, you're already smacking the revlimiter. Not exactly good for the bike.
Clutching involves only a twist when you clutch it up, and then when you're up, the motor's not screaming and you've got some space to work with.

I think clutching is easier to learn, but if you can't find bp bouncing it up you are just as likely not to find it while clutching it.
To the thread starter, my first bike 8 years ago was also an F3, get going about 10 mph in first sitting down, cover the rear brake (shouldn't really need it in first gear) and start gently clutching it. Compared to today's stock 600s F3s are geared pretty short in stock form. It won't take a lot of revs to get the bike up, very few in fact. Don't try to whack it open and 12 it the first time. Just rev it a small amount when you clutch it. Just get used to the wheel barely coming off the ground and opening the throttle slightly and lifting to set it down. Keep trying, more and more throttle, you'll get it. Get used to gently rolling off the throttle to let the bike down, you don't want to just snap it closed and slam the bike down, that's hell on the forks.

anyone that says clutching up a wheelie destroys a clutch is obviously doing something terribly wrong. i have almost 30k miles on my f4i with original clutch and my 929 had 28k miles on it with the original clutch. 929 was stunted hard for 3 years, f4i only a year now.
a bunch of people around here that do power wheelies and junk are burning theri clutches up as fast as their oil.....i know because most of them ask me for help replacing them.
power wheelies are dangerous and just homosexual, get a clue mcfly and KNOCK THAT **** OFF

we aren't talking finding BP, we are talking about safety. clutching is easier and safer, whether or not a person is a ***** and won't go to BP is another story and i'm sure with all the little bitches on teh forums it will soon enough be another thread on here.

i know a very good friend of mine that can power up 3rd straight to bp on the higway on his 636 and can ride it for miles!!!!
but the fact is that things have evolved and as of now with the tricks and styles out clutching is the better/right way to learn even though it takes mroe time in the beginning it will help you out in the long run!!!!

The biggest flaw is the frame spars around the front of the motor, you are going to want to protect them, they damage easily when the bike falls over hard.
Alot of F4i parts swap on if replacements are needed and you can't find the F3 stuff.

look on google video or you tube, there is a wheelie video, i think its black and white, but the guy talks you through learning to wheelie while he is riding. tells you how to and how to bring it it a little at a time and not go for bp right away. i haven't watched it in a long time, but i think it is helpful for someone learning if i remember correctly. i could be wrong, wouldn't hurt to look it up.
