Clutching may be all the rage now, but since when does bouncing a bike up require lots of revs or smacking the limiter?

I think clutching is easier to learn, but if you can't find bp bouncing it up you are just as likely not to find it while clutching it.

To the thread starter, my first bike 8 years ago was also an F3, get going about 10 mph in first sitting down, cover the rear brake (shouldn't really need it in first gear) and start gently clutching it. Compared to today's stock 600s F3s are geared pretty short in stock form. It won't take a lot of revs to get the bike up, very few in fact. Don't try to whack it open and 12 it the first time. Just rev it a small amount when you clutch it. Just get used to the wheel barely coming off the ground and opening the throttle slightly and lifting to set it down. Keep trying, more and more throttle, you'll get it. Get used to gently rolling off the throttle to let the bike down, you don't want to just snap it closed and slam the bike down, that's hell on the forks.

clutch, safer and better on the bike.

anyone that says clutching up a wheelie destroys a clutch is obviously doing something terribly wrong. i have almost 30k miles on my f4i with original clutch and my 929 had 28k miles on it with the original clutch. 929 was stunted hard for 3 years, f4i only a year now.

a bunch of people around here that do power wheelies and junk are burning theri clutches up as fast as their oil.....i know because most of them ask me for help replacing them.

power wheelies are dangerous and just homosexual, get a clue mcfly and KNOCK THAT **** OFF

we aren't talking finding BP, we are talking about safety. clutching is easier and safer, whether or not a person is a ***** and won't go to BP is another story and i'm sure with all the little bitches on teh forums it will soon enough be another thread on here.

and clutching isn't the rage, it's the proper and easier way to do it. bounce up an idle seat stander......and when you're done go to your shed

I was also speaking to the thread starter, as you can see, I adressed him in my post you quoted.

So as for "we" I am quoting someone, replying to them, and adressing the thread starter. The thread starter is talking about learning to wheelie. So the "we" would be he and I or would be the person I quoted and myself. We are talking about learning to wheelie and I reccomended he learn to clutch it, reading comprehension > you

So we aren't talking bouncing up idle speed anything, we are talking about two different subjects, learning to wheelie and the quote about what is required for a power wheelie.

To explain further where I'm coming from, like I said, I started riding in 99, no one rode slow wheelies then and no one clutched wheelies. I learned to bounce up highway speed wheelies. Clutching and learning them at slow speeds would have been easier, but people weren't doing them that way then. It wasn't until 01 or so did people around here start riding slow wheelies and making 12 bars etc. That's when I started trying the first gear bp wheelies. It just bugs me when someone misunderstands a power wheelie saying things like it takes a lot of revs and you whack the limiter. ****, now and then on the highway I will still find myself bouncing one up, old habits are hard to brake.

Of course, but not high rev'd, rev-limiter banging RPMs. The longest wheelie I've seen was 41.X miles and it was bounced up, that's a LONG way to be on the rev limiter

i know a very good friend of mine that can power up 3rd straight to bp on the higway on his 636 and can ride it for miles!!!!



but the fact is that things have evolved and as of now with the tricks and styles out clutching is the better/right way to learn even though it takes mroe time in the beginning it will help you out in the long run!!!!

I don't know if I made this clear; I don't do power wheelies. I actually can't do **** yet. I was just trying to re-affirm my knowledge on the subject. After 2 more weeks of riding I'll start the clutch ups

being carb'd an F3 may not be the best stunt bike, but they have a FAT low bp. They are extremely easy to learn to wheelie on. They are built like a tank too. The bodywork sucks for stunting(way too many pieces, all kinds of stuff starts cracking), but for the most part the rest of the bike is pretty solid.

The biggest flaw is the frame spars around the front of the motor, you are going to want to protect them, they damage easily when the bike falls over hard.

Alot of F4i parts swap on if replacements are needed and you can't find the F3 stuff.

look on google video or you tube, there is a wheelie video, i think its black and white, but the guy talks you through learning to wheelie while he is riding. tells you how to and how to bring it it a little at a time and not go for bp right away. i haven't watched it in a long time, but i think it is helpful for someone learning if i remember correctly. i could be wrong, wouldn't hurt to look it up.
