12 bar opinion
A friend (non stunter) told me I should stay away from a 12 bar cause it can become a guillotine real quick should I (and probably will) do something wrong/dumb.
I know there are round bars and all. I just wanted some opinions on the round vs 12 bar. I tried to seach it but the search function is still down.
Any info would be helpful. HAI will be getting my money one way or another

Re: 12 bar opinion
well the round bar is still "technically" called a 12 bar.... but anyway, to answer your question... if you're barely learning 12's then I suggest you learn without a bar first, a tail is more forgiving then a bar. A flat bar can turn ugly if you dont hit it straight... but then again a round bar will turn you over if you dont know your balance on the bike yet either. All a flat bar is really used for is bar tricks

How far along are you? If you can do slow stuff and aren't constantly needing to park the bike on the bar (stalling etc) then get a round bar.
Just don't forget its not a straight one.

Re: 12 bar opinion
the only thing that strays me away from getting a round bar is the fact that i love foot in bar wheelies and i dont have a handbrake yet (for seat-standers) but i dont know if it would be harder to fit your foot in a round bar

So let me get this straight.... you CAN park it on the round bar.
Tough decision, Perhaps I need to try them both? I was thinking by going with the 12 bar it would enable you to have more diversity with tricks. Being able to put your foot in it and what not.
Thanks for the info.

Re: 12 bar opinion
I have a flat bar and have always. I recently learned SS circles, and was constantly planting the bike on the bar (Still am actually). It comes in handy when ya screw up, you can just put the bike on the bar instead of mousetrappin or tryin to catch a highside.
But, I also fucked up last year and scraped a 3rd gear seat stander. The bar is what caused me to get hucked over the handle bars, I hit it crooked. Wasn't pretty on the road. If I had a round bar, it might not have caused such a wobble scrappin at that speed. Who knows....
I don't do any bar tricks, and personaly don't do FIB, so I was thinkin about the round bar option, but i definetly need a bar of some sort.
