Um wheres my g.d. shifter???

Was heading back from the lot tonight... on the highway i went to click down and i had no shifter... so i was like wtf... look down and its sparking off the ground.... so i pull over and was wondering what i was going to do.... so i put my last zip-tie to use... to hold it on... was a fun ride home... just thought i would share...

Re: Um wheres my g.d. shifter???

was the pedal sparking off the ground or was it the shift rod? I used to have the shift rod come loose on my r1 all the time. Best fix is a short nut with a nylon locking bolt cause the nylon washer on the inside will keep it from slipping from the engine vibration

the whole shift linkage was flopping around... i laughed and pulled over and droped it on its side so i could look at it

Re: Um wheres my g.d. shifter???

same thing happened with me while i was on the highway heading from Las Vegas to Tucson on my RR. i just moved my foot and didn't feel it and it was just hanging. fortunately the bolt that holds it was still on the gearshift and i had my hex wrenches with me. i was in the middle of nowhere in the desert.

skitching has nothing to do with ur gearshift. u might need ur peg if u step back up versus supermanning up but u could skitch all year long without a gearshift. u may have just opened up a can of worms, dude. HA HA

yeah but u said ur gearshift is what fell off. how's the gixxer set up? u need a gearshift for the footpeg to hold in place or something? cuz if my gearshift falls off, my footpeg is still on there solid.
