1000RR plugs

is there anyway to take the plugs out of a 1000rr without taking that big plastic peice out that is part of the bottom of the airbox???? what the hell was honda thinking when they designed this?! i'm pretty sure i have to dissasemble half the damn bike again just to get at the plugs.

i did a frame swap and i think the plugs are fouled on the new frame/motor....either that or i have air in the fuel rail, but i think the plugs are probably fouled from the motor/frame siting upside down or something.....

Re: 1000RR plugs

if you have the stock sparkplug wernch i think you can get at it by going behind the radiator. the airbox piece is a bitch to take off. sucks but good luck with it man.

Re: 1000RR plugs

Taking the lower airbox-induction-vent-thingy off it the hardest part.

It may be possible to do without removing it, but I'd say just take it out and make it easy on yourself... which means taking the airbox back off.

Re: 1000RR plugs

The chance you have air in the fuel rail is slim to none on that thing, it will purge any air with a few injector cycles. I think hazen is right take it off and save yourself the hassel.

Re: 1000RR plugs

Honda over engineered the HELL out of the 1000rr and the 600rr. When I first bought mine I took it apart just so I could see what all the fuss was about and now I know why! It's a pain in the ***, but I can't deny the way my bike rides... like an f'in champ!

Re: 1000RR plugs

to be honest with you, i'm not impressed with the 1000rr, it handles great in corners, but that's about it, my *** hurts after a good 45 minute ride, if you ride with a passenger your arms feel like you just put in 4-5 hours into a lot session....and this 05 gsxr 1000 i just picked up will walk all over my 1000rr....other than worrying about my frame snapping in half, im pretty happy with this gsxr!!
