Re: Can an off duty cop ...?

I had one pull me over off duty I only stopped when he pulled his gun and badge tho..before that I told him to get f***** he then waited for other cops to show up and wrote me a ticket out of the on duty cops ticket book careless driving
This is when you run and say the cop presented his gun before his badge I am from Ontario Canada and I know the cops have to do a ton of paperwork even if the gun is clipped from the belt let alone bring pulled out.

How is it not illegal? My buddy got wreckless driving for his wheelie. Plus speeding. He got fined out the *** but got to keep his license. Idk how that happened.

Broward sheriff's deputy shot, suspect in custody 8/6/06

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — A Broward County sheriff's deputy is in critical condition today after being shot by a motorcyclist he pulled over in a routine traffic stop.

Authorities say the plainclothes deputy stopped the motorist just before noon in Hollywood, but the suspect fled on foot, then turned around and shot the deputy.

The officer's name hasn't been released. Neither has the name of the suspect, who was arrested moments after the shooting at a nearby condominium.

Nearly a dozen officers and rescue workers helped load the deputy onto a stretcher headed to Memorial Regional Hospital. And dozens of marked and unmarked patrol cars surrounded the scene.

Investigators closed off a road in the area and are looking for evidence.
GOOD! - wtf is a routine traffic stop anyway?? Like a routine to pull someone over just for the hell of it and waste there time. And they were off duty anyways. For **** sake, leave people alone and let them enjoy there freedom. Unless the cop is trying to help someone in danger, they should take there time off spend it with your family, friends, or somthing other than work. There's a reason it's called "off duty."

Sorry to be so harsh but motorcycle harassment is out of hand here in SoCal pulling riders over with no probable cause, and they need to knock that chit off. This may make cops think twice about misuse or overuse of there power.

Last year Smutt Shop Racing in Philadelphia lost two riders in a parking lot crash. They were riding long wheelies in a huge lot by the airport a little after dark (rest of the crew left already) and collided at a combined speed of sumthin like 60mph. Both died.

Lots are safer but **** still happens.

Re: Can an off duty cop ...?

I'm not gonna argue the point that lots are safer but theres a big difference usually in the riders capabilities between lots & roads. A huge part of the deaths & acidents on the road are new unexpierenced riders that are riding way beyond their capabilities. Most people who ride lots are experienced riders and riders who usually know what the **** their doing. lots are definatly safer but you can't really compair the accidents or deaths between the two. If unexperienced riders only did lots and all experienced riders only did streets those nubers would change alot. They would probably be the other way around.

You're a ****** moron! Quit trying to form intelligent answers to questions you know nothing about **** stick!

An off duty cop is just that... OFF DUTY! He has the ability to place you under citizens arrest just like any of us do. But the difference is each cop has a direct dial in # that goes straight through dispatch to a patrol car, and on top of that 9 out of 10 times the "Off Duty" (not under cover) cop has the cell phone numbers to most officers working their designated shift so response time is about 20 times faster than say any of us called in shitty driving. I just spoke with my cousin who is a Lakewood Police Officer, and he said since most people don't know the laws it's easy for an off duty cop to impose laws that normally can't but the average citizen won't confront them on these laws b/c again most people don't know them.

As for your story E-queer, that would NEVER hold up in court... the fact that it is YOUR bike you have to claim responsibility for having a friend ride it. If you don't claim responsibility then they ask why you didn't claim it stolen??

Again... stfu, you were born a retard and you will always be a homo-tard.

dude we call that a civilian.....it's the same as your mommy telling me i'm going to jail....it has to be caught in the act by an active duty officer.

It doesn't have to be caught by an "on duty" officer, but the ticket DOES have to come from an officer on duty. And F4iCj, a cop cannot go from off duty to on duty and then write a ticket... infractions of traffic laws have to be cited immediately otherwise after a significant time period has passed if a ticket is in fact issued more often than not that ticket will be dismissed by the DA.

Agree with you with the experience and capabilities...I wasn't arguing either way, personally I stay on the streets and was thinking that its safer and easier on my liscense and insurance to be in the lot... I think most of the deaths/accidents on the road have to do with the idiots we share the road with...I personally have had 2 friends die in the last 3 years and neither were doing anything wrong, in one case my friend and his passenger were killed by a guy who took a left literally right before he got to the intersection...b/c he was on the phone and not paying attention.. Another was a lady in a mini van who changed lanes without even looking...sending him into on coming traffic....
