Stowage Question...
Well, come september, i'll be in Okinawa Japan for 3 years. My question is what would everyone recomend doing to keep the motor from rotting away? Im gonna store the bikes at my father in laws place, hes a pretty good mechanic, but wont ride em around or anything to keep em in check cause hes a harley rider. My buddy put mystery oil in his oil and gas before he went, and when he got back it fired right up, and ran a little round for about 15 minutes. But that was only for like 10 or 11 months, not 36.
Should i put some of that fuel preservation crap in it, or just purge all the fluids complelty?

I can take the bikes, my weightlimit is 3000 lbs to fly over there. I want to take a ******* cause the roads are coral and slippery as ****, and theres so much salt in the air rust, filter, and a ton of other problems come up

3 choices
1) leave it with me, i'll ride it every day! promiss!
2) have your father in law r wutever start it up an let it run for 5 r 10mins a few times a month, add sum fuel stabilizer and keep tank full so it dont rust. damn dont you have any boyz that live close so they can take ur **** out and ride da fuckoutta it!
3) sell it, in 3 years it will be way whack!

Re: Stowage Question...
u guys cant take ur bikes with you? valuwise it's a better option to sell the bikes and cars depending on the cars years milages n stuff. or just be careful that they don't "dissapear" while u have full coverage insurance

Yea, my inlaws have a 2 lot yard, and a shop in the back. They;re gonna stay in the shop. As far as the car, its an 07 Focus we just bought, so if we were to sell it, wed eat alot of cash on it. I mean, its a girly car but its a good car, and what were planning on doing, is paying a big chunk of it with my bonus, and then pay the rest over time to boost our credit. Us both being young we dont have credit and are trying to build it.

Re: Stowage Question...
Just leave it on the lot on Pendleton, they'll take care of it for ya Not really, just kidding. I think that if you dump the fluids ... wouldn't all of your seals dry out and possibly cease the engine up? I had the same problem, bought a truck right before they told me I was leaving ... the best thing I can come up with is selling the bikes if you don't ship em.
P.s. Go check out Pavlov's Dogs ... they f'n rock! :YEAH

Espically at tmo. All those guys are waiting to get out, so theyd be like "Hey man! this kid doesnt get back for 3 years, and im out in TWO WEEKS! lets take it for a spin"
**** that.
But yea i thought about the seals... i think im gonna sell one of them, take one, and leave one in bakersfield with the pops in law. Hell start it up once a week for me cause hes always working on bikes. There were 2 bikes on here i was thinkin about getting but dunno yet. I want a 929 and nags was selling his. I might leave that with my dad in florida cause he too works on bikes and would baby it for me while im gone

Re: Stowage Question...
Not to mention ... have you seen the fu*king vehicles that get left at TMO, it's like a fenced-in grass(or dirt) lot! My buddy left his there for 7 months when we went to Iraq back in '03, when we got back you couldn't see the paint on it because of the dust!!!
Anyway, I agree with a few of the guys on here ... three years is just too long for a bike to sit or any vehicle for that matter.
