What are the best years for the R1 master?

Came across a cheap R1 master cylinder, and wanted to know what was the best years to use for a hand brake.

Thanks, Dewho?

I have the 04-06 R1 front master and like it. It's made by Brembo.

Same one that the long rollers use... i.e. Mitch and Bill D.

I know they changed the calipers for '07 but I don't know about the master.

No but Bill D does and it works well for him.

I learned SS coasters with a beat 929 master and then rode Tice's bike with a 16x18 master and learned spreader coasters within 4 or 5 tries... so I got one of those instead and put the R1 master on the front brake side.

yamaha masters that are radials are brembo... all of em.

the R6 has that same master from 05-07 and the R1's from 04-07. those are all the brembo radialz.

I have one in service as a handbrake, and it works fine. locks up fairly well, doesn't have the rock solid feeling that I have felt on others. but it feels identical to my front brakes, which was very firm.
