I have a 06 gsxr600 if i go up 6teeth on the rear will my 520 chain fit or will i need the next size up

i'm not sure how the sizes work i just know some ppl say the chain will fit and then i was told i would need a 528 or 525 sorry for the dumb question i just want to have the right parts and get it right the first time

by the way i ordered a 520 conversion sprocket thats why i thought it would fit because thats the pitch right?

most people convert to 520 or 525

The 06/07 gsxr600/750 is a 525 chain...Yes you will need to get a longer chain...My 06 was 1 down 4up and the stock chain was too short...soo you need to order a 120 link 525 chain, and just take out as many links as you need to fit...but if you already ordered a 520 sprocket then order a 120link 520 chain

ya if you oredered a 520 sprocket then you will need a 520 chain, but dont forget to get a 520 front sprocket as well.

ok i reordered a 50 tooth 525 pitch sprocket off kneedraggers i understand what you guys are saying about the 520 pitch and i feel a little dumb about it but thats how we learn you think that should do me up or should i still get a chain

with just +5 you'll need a new chain but if you get a -2 front sprocket also you should be able to use you stock length chain. You could also get a -1, +2 combo which is about equal to +5 and you could use stock length chain with that. You don't need gearing to go slow though all you need is good throttle control and rear brake skills. If you don't have a cage yet I would get that instead of sprockets.

yea man i put a 520 front and rear sprocket on my stock chain and it ate in all to hell.47 tooth sprocket now is 26 and 1/2.if you change one thing just change it all.
