Who works at a bike shop?? MINUS the drama
My rant from when I worked at Honda haah
I didnt read through the thread..I am sure by now its off topic and drama filled haha. I worked in parts at Honda for a while. I did mostly set ups on cruisers and stuff but DAMN were people dumb. Guys would come in and need parts...
"What kind of bike do you have?" "Ummm i dont know it has two wheels."
"Is is a Honda???" "Its Red... so yea"
"what year is it" "ummm do I need to know that"
simple freaking questions... dumb answers... DROVE me nuts!
AND everyone that walks in the damn door wants something for free or a DEAL on something. You dont walk into the grocery store and try and get the prices down of **** in there. Joe blow would walk in off the street and want a damn discount for NO FREAKING REASON

I also worked at Cycle Riders Longwood and I would have to say that the biggest dipshit that I encountered was a Triumph rider who wanted to know were the instuctions were for the FACTORY camchain tensioner that he ordered. Second thought...he's tied the the guy who wanted to return the mirrored Shoei face shield that he had rolling around in the back of his truck for three months.

I had a guy want to return cams for his GS500F because they said his bike wouldn't run for him. SO of course I asked if a mechanic installed them. he replied with "I have been a car mechanic for 15 years." (this is where it gets good) So I looked at him and said "So you timed them off the number 1 cylinder?" he says, "Well of course, this isn't my first rodeo." And, with great big smile I said "Well then maybe you should time them off of number 2 like they're supposed to be and it would run." HAHAHAHAHA

I pulled wrenches for a honda bike shop for years. Low pay and high stress kinda sucks. Nothing like being half way through a job and be pulled off to show someone where the start button is on their new bike then coming back to your job trying to remember where you were, what was tightened and what wasn't because the guy has been waiting for them in the showroom and you have 3 more rush jobs that day.. NO THANKS.

Well id rather work on honda's then anything else. The worst was working at argyll which sold everything,, suz, yammy, arctic cat, duc, bmw. At least if your only working on one type you learn so much faster. However it was sweet bagging the life out of brand new duc's. I wonder why i didn't last long in that shop now ?

i remember a chick at a parts counter was telling me how some guy came in asking for a "clicker" for his bike. she didnt know what he was talking about and asked him, "What does a clicker do?" The guy got all pissy, "You know Clicker. It's a clicker!! You don't know what a clicker does??? It's by your foot and you push up and down on it to switch gears!!" Chick was thinkin: What a dumbass.

haha that is freaking classic!
People are weird...
I had a couple that came in and bought 2000 worth of mx gear. Which was fine by me because we were on commission. They were a customers of mine that I had been selling to for a bit. Weird as hell. I sold them all the gear and found out that they didnt even have bikes. They were going to test ride one. Then they had matching 600 cruisers. I was getting them a Cobra light bar for one and a Kuryakan for the other and whole lot of other useless accessories. They lived about 25 mins from the shop but guess what they wont drive them on the highway. I am not actually sure where they rode them. They were going to trailer them up to the shop to get the light bars on because they dont ride them on the road.

I've worked in almost all the shops down here. They all blow.
