KLEEN MOD help

I did the kleen mod a little while ago and the bike smokes like a mother doing wheelies down the highway. I know the whole point of doing the mod is to eliminate the oil from the airbox, but I can't do a wheelie without foggin 4 lanes of traffic. The oil level started at the top of the sight glass and has since lowered due to losing oil. Has anybody ever had this bad of problem?? It is a 06 636. I need to fix this quick.

Re: KLEEN MOD help

Last oil change I did have it set right to the top of the sight glass. It is down to the bottom mark on the sight glass now due to how much oil I have burnt off. And yes I do check the oil level when the bike is straight. I am going to have to take the tank off this weekend and try to figure something out I guess?

Re: KLEEN MOD help

Whats to figure out? Vent the crankcase to the exhaust port. Cap off Throttle bodies 2 3 4. Plug air box. Fill with oil whilst bike is straight up and on level ground. Done.

Re: KLEEN MOD help

Yeah man you got too much oil. I accidentally put too much oil in mine and it does the same thing. It's supposed to smoke. Instead of that oil going into your airbox it's cycled through your crankcase then out your exhaust

Re: KLEEN MOD help

if your oil level is low and your smoking while doing hywy wheelies it may not be an issue with the mod! unless your doing some long as hywy coasters...

Re: KLEEN MOD help

I definitely don't have too much oil. I am a little higher up in the revs, around 12, which was the only reason I could think that it might be doing it. I am working on brake control right now so hopefully I can bring them back a little further and slow them down. It also doesn't smoke right away, I have to be up for a little while. I'll try to get the rpm's down and see if that helps.

Re: KLEEN MOD help

your going to pop your engine if u ride em constantly to 12-15k rpm... put it down at 10k and re-try dude, 636's hate under-load rev limit wheelies...

Yeah, I'm working on it. I just switched from an F4i and I haven't had too much seat time on the 636. Hopefully I can get it under control before long.

Re: KLEEN MOD help

Yeah, I'm kind of stumped. I was just thinking that at that high of rpm that maybe it was pulling enough vacuum to pull some oil through. But it dumps A LOT of oil. I stopped four lanes of traffic for about a half of a mile stretch before I figured out that it was smoking. I'll give it a try at a lower rpm when the rain clears and see what happens.

Re: KLEEN MOD help

Just out of curiosity, since must people have 636's that look at this thread, what do you guys do with your clip ons? Stock pushed forward, switched and flipped, zero degree?

Re: KLEEN MOD help

roger, blow-by @ 12k+ rpm will cause enough turbulence to push oil out the crank... im sure this guy is on the limiter 14-16k
