Finally Got Another Bike!

Picked up a sweet street killer today. 2001 R1 with Chrome Rims, Vance & Hines polished exhaust, front flushmount signals, Hotbodies undertail.
Thing is mint, flawless. Its got 9,000 babied miles on it. No Stunts No Wheelies. The guy I got it from was 40 somthing with kids and a wife. He had a Harley before this & didn't like how heavy the bike was and liked the feel of a sportbike more. It won't be on the road for a few weeks but I'll get some pics of me doing standups on it within a week of going on the road. Mabey a clip if I can get ahold of a camera.
Was going ******* crazy not riding. So Siked!
Going from my F2 to this was an unbelievable difference. Sooo much better!

Re: Finally Got Another Bike!

Hey guys thanks for all the compliments. I've only rode it for a short time cause its not on the road yet but I love it. Its real nice to going from my F2 where I had to bounce & clutch the **** out of second to come up, and now feather the throttle & clutch second and have that front end jump right up.

The one thing I really didn't like about my F2 is especially once I geared it (-1+8) my gears were so short and even in third at 80mph my RPMS were screaming riding out wheelies. Also the F2 was very heavy so I'd always have to bounce/clutch up. I could rock some nice standups on the F2 but I'm sure my riding is about to improve alot with the new bikes capabilities.

I tried to put it in my living room last night but my steps in my front door were too steep and the back tire just wanted to spin on the ramp.

I believe it. That transition must've been like night and day. Post up some stunt pics!

Re: Finally Got Another Bike!

True. If he hadn't told us it was an '01 I would've thought a much later year... got inverted forks, that sick front styling and that swingarm type..

Re: Finally Got Another Bike!

I have a wheel horse, neither that or my Banshee plow snow too well...use to have a Sportsman 500 with a plow, that thing was like having a city plow stored in my shed...couldn't get that thing stuck if I tried!

No not at all. I wound up selling my jet skis and got cash too. I wound up paying around $6000 mabey alittle less. That came with a nice helmet, real nice folding aluminum ramp, all the original parts including mint stock wheels, and really nice tie downs that mount to the clipons so it won't scratch the bike. And he picked up my jetskis and delivered the bike.
