i heard about it but i honestly dont even know never cared to find out. nothing on the bike has been welded or anything like that though. so i dunno why the ecu would be taking a ****. and is there a specific way to bypass the side stand switch? such as the tip sensor where u connect the 2 outside wires

yes, we have the security on the honda's here...it's a pain in the butt. when that goes out the bike won't run at all....problem we just had on my friend's 929....3 ecu's and a bunch of wiring later and it was a diode problem with the HISS system in the ignition.
anyways, mobalized, do you know that has iridium plugs that are rated to 60k miles? do you have 60k miles on your bike? chances are the plugs are fine....hard to mess those up unless someone has jacked hte bike up bad (probably not if you say it's only got 10k miles).
it's 4 years old, in 4 years a bike can corrode a lot. On that 929 i stated in this post, when looking for hte problem we found 5 bad connections and over a handful of grounds that were bad. It's a normal every day bike and wires were corroded and not making contact at the connectors. This bike was always garage kept too.

well u have to agree new plugs always make a bike run a little more chrisp. i doubt they will solve any of my problems but they cant hurt. but if you guys really thing i shouldnt even touch them i wont. binder how did you troubleshoot to find all your bad connections and grounds?

haha, well it's not really trouble shooting because the bikes usually don't run. we pull everything down, take the harness out and 1 by one unhook all the connections and trace all the wires.
i'm just trying to save you money. It's free for you to check a wiring harness, it's like 60$ for you to replace 15$ a piece spark plugs that really won't help.
also, get a digital multimeter. You can use that to check the continuity between grounds and the frame from various places. You set it to "ohms" and if it's 0 then no connection. also, clean all your plugs with an electrical contact cleaner and then use some dielectric grease when putting them back together. electrical stuff is a bioch, but it is cheap to fix when it's only connections.
oh ya, and on my 929, i welded the frame MANY MANY times with a TIG welder, never unplugged the battery and never took the ecu out..ran fine.
