in 98 the 750 and up had fuel injection but not the six. why i have no idea. Im no mechanic but i know this to be true. and i think there is a way they do a fi setup and still use carbs. cause my 98 had a choke on it also?? but at the same time it used a power commander???

that's exactly what i say.

most of you guys are freaking nuts. you don't even know what 180 feels like. speedos are WAY off!! stock 05 r1 only did 164, then the modified with full exhaust, velocity stacks, filter, remap only did 168...this is maxed out. they were both indicating the final 189 (highest an r1 registers) when they hit the trap.....ya, 20mph off.

when factory race teams are barely getting their bikes in the 180's i highly doubt you are all getting your stock bikes over the 160's. get a real radar then come back and post your 20mph slower speeds.


and ya, i think i might have said illinois for schnitz. i was thinking about the r1 builders mccoy racing i think. Tony was talking about having it done at either shop, but he ended up sending it to schnitz. I think my friend darrin was the one that sent his zx9 to mccoy to have it built.

no, FI doesn't have carbs. FI bikes still have a choke though.....a choke is just something that allows more fuel into the bike for starts (or if youre an idiot any time else you leave it on). honda's went with autochoke on the fi bikes....suzuki still had a normal choke up to i think 03.

you're high. gixxer 600's were FI in 2001. pick up a manual or go look at a bike. geez.

FI bikes DO have a choke....you can have a choke and no carbs. look at all the gixxer 750's....

if your painting is anything that reflects on your knowlegde of mechanics...watch out.

which GPS do you have? how did you view it when you were going that fast?

i think you too, need to join the pool of high *** people cause not even the race team r1's are doing over 200 in the straights. they tested in every magazine in high 160's. u must have gotten the secret speed edition.

i stand by my post on page 4. No b.s.ing. Get a cop to radar you at 5 different speeds on your speedo ( i did 50 70 90 110 130 ) and then calculate the difference and average em out.

This is in my g35, it's a slight uphill and i was into a 5mph headwind. 6 speed manual but i only got it into 5th because of distance issues pulling up that hill.

if that car is stock ecu.. 5th gear is the juicer regardless
limiter prevents it giong past 155 anyway..

we'll find out. i know of a few that have broken the 160 mark with stock ecu's. we should have a little more power in it now and this weekend i'm taking it to a flat spot. I was only pushing to break 150 that day, which isn't bad on an incline. Now i'm pushing for 155.
