I just got a set of 05 636 forks that I plan on puting on my 01 F4i...Just wondering if anyone did something like this and if they got any tips...I'm having trouble figuring out how to swap out the 636 steering stem so i can put the f4i one in when they are a different thickness..

 

i think u can use 954 upper/lower triple tree

 

929/954 clamps should work just fine.... 50 mm

 

i know on 636 forks the uper needs to be 50mm but the lower needs to be 52mm

 

I never thought of that , ur right if 636 clip ons fit then the forks should slide in smooth and tight it up.

so that means you ll need front rim , caliper and rotors thats about it.

 

The wheel, axle, rotors and brakes are going to be from a 636...I was planing on swaping out the steering stem but looks like it's way different?

 

you can sell me the top triple clamp for cheap cause its worthless to you...

it sucks to do i was going to do it with mine and im a machinist and i just bought rc51 forks.

929/954 triples wont work bottom is different size. and you need to press the stem out of the 636 lower and then press the f4i stem out and machine a spacer to make up the difference to put the f4i stem in the 636 triple because the hole in the 636 triple is too big for the f4i stem.
