I wonder if you just tighten that fork-base allen head bolt often you should be good. I checked mine and the right fork was loose (3/4 turn) but the left was TIGHT.

Re: 636 "A MUST" stunt mods?

that is a set screw to hold the fokr tube from getting loose the important part is that the fork tube is tight

+1
So the issue with 03-04 forks snapping is relatively fixed, long as you check them routinely.:YEAH

Mine broke before anyone knew to tighten them. After mine broke everyone found out they had to be tightened.

For the forks, you tighten the set screw. Its a allen head (kinda small) on the inside of the forks, at the bottom. To get to it EASILY, you need to take off the front rim. I noticed you can almost reach it without taking off the rim but it looks like a pain.

So what are you saying???
You have to loosen the set screw then twist the inner tube into the base - then tighten the set screw???

Re: 636 "A MUST" stunt mods?

05/06/07 forks do not have this set screw because they are built by showa, 03/04 are built by shitty KYB..

So you gotta use alot of force to have it fully seat then tighten the set screw? Or can you just loosen the set screw, twist the inner into the sloder(is this right) tube, re-tighten set screw. You tried a strap wrenech with no luck of what??
