dont feel bad mike, there are a thousand riders out there just like you.
all you young cats think you can come in and bust a trick and someboday owes you something....you'll get nowhere with that attitude. that's what separates the good from the great, the great want it more. it isn't easy and i hate to break it to you, but if y ou think the sport is going nowhere right now, then you have no hope and you never had any hope....and when it does go somewhere, it aint like you can step back in and make money.
i love watching people quit riding....it's like being able to smile smugly and say i told you so.
lanier hit the nail on the head...its the struggle, one day maybe it'll pay off
you're a good rider, but just like the NBA there are plenty of cats who can hoop, but it takes more than just a trick to make it.
i for one, won't be quitting and i will be making it as the sport continues to grow.
sorry for the rant...just got done riding and i had a blast!

Re: im done. just tired of riding. no more hyper
I never said you fucked me over. Yeah, everyone knows you built my f4i. Anytime someone would ask me about it, I always told them that Hyperryder built it and painted it. I just dont see why you had to bring my name up in your thread when I never even posted in it. And Im not talking ****, Im not even in this or even give two ***** about whether you ride or dont. Do what makes you happy and stop worrying about what people think. I always have told you to stop doing that and things would be alot better for you. Later...

Re: im done. just tired of riding. no more hyper
I dont know but if your not down to ride or stunt anymore than thats great for you and who really gives a sh-t....cause I know I dont. The way I look at it is this forum, for the most part, is about stunting and the LOVE and PASSION for the sport. If you want to stop, quit, or take a break cool cool and all but dont bring all the negativity and bummer attitude about stuntin to the forum where people are stoked on the sport and will remain to long after the so called fronters give up....lol.......People who are passionate about extreme sports never give up what they do.(take a break at most)....Also you mention something about retiring as if you have been an accomplished professional making hella money for years...lol whatever its a sport, a hobbie, a passion at most......I dont think the word "retiring" fits you just wanting to stop stunting and having the need to share with everyone about this grand decision.......No hard feelings....Just my

easy, sometimes after getting the joys out of something u move on to more fulfilling movements, not to say that biking isnt fulfilling, but sometimes a mans gotta do wut a mans gotta do. just a month ago i almost gave up riding for my wife. but then i figured if i give it up itll have to be on my own will and not just for te sake of who does and doesnt like it for me.
all in all i bid u a short farewell HYPERRYDER
all in all i bid u a short farewell HYPERRYDER
people burn their self out, practice, riding, practice, riding, competition... etc.
i only ride maybe twice a week, and only stunt once of them 2 rides. i do this **** for fun, and i mentally keep it fun, by portioning out what i feel is fun. i dont want it to get to be a regular situation, and make it seem like work.
i have a very nice career, and i have just had a son.... it wont make me quit doin work, i have actually ridden more since i have had my child.... but i know how important these things are.
i guess you just got a change in maturity eh?

just taking my time like you did with shipping me a clean motor with no numbers on it come on man i thought we were friends but you should not do that to friends. i feel like i can take my time since you took yours 5 months to get me a motor that was paid for. think about it mike before you get to deep. i am sure Nags will chime in to. around

Aaron and Teach are both holding it down.
Teach is one of the most marketable stunters out there, he's doing it right. He's a great rider and a good risk.
Businesses put a lot into cultivating their brand, they won't just give their name to anyone. Image is as important as performance.

Aw. You're sweet. I had to learn those things recently so I could put them into play. The information is second hand but tested personally.
Six months ago I had no clue about any of this stuff. It's all about bike sales to the factories, all about selling shoes when you talk to Nike, etc. I just had to learn what they think sells products. Turns out nobody wants to come out with an ad campaign that looks like they just pulled a bum out of a garbage can and put him on a bike.
Dell got embarassed and pulled millions of dollars worth of ads because their "stoner dude" frontman turned out to actually be a stoner. I feel lucky we don't have to worry about that kind of stuff yet, but if you guys make it big, those days are coming. There's a lesson in there. For riders who represent sponsors, it's important to know what a big responsibility that is.

I hope you have thought long and hard about what you are saying. Marc goes through these spells about once every couple of months. I listen to him, tell him we need to go out and do something (take a break from it all) and then he is fine in a day or so. This sport is like anything else, you sometimes have to step back and breath. He has been riding for almost 6 years now, I have watched the struggles, the disappointments, broken bikes, injuries, you name it. But, in the end he keeps on pushing because he loves it, it's in his heart, and he now has another goal with Jr. We have a family also, 4 boys, both of us work full-time jobs and yet we manage to make it to the spot a couple times a week and to all the shows we can. Just this past year we have started doing the comp thing and yeah it can be discouraging, I just say use it to push you harder. In the end just think about it, if it's in your heart then you can't just quit, if not it will be easy.
Enough with my rant. Take Care!

well i hope you do well partner... no matter what you do...but i hope you start riding again...cause you are a good rider. you just need to get a edge about yourself...every since the star boyz show you been down... everybody has bad luck or a bad day... hell like i told you i have been booed by 80,000 people in my own stadium when playing for the jets...cause i dropped 2 interceptions during a game...not once did i even consider quiting...i sucked that **** up and showed them why i was paid to be there...and scored the winning touchdown.... so to make a long story short.... you can't always be on top and you will always have haters no matter what you do..that is just how the world is... i gave you a sponsorship cause you got something ...you just need to polish up...and relize you can't hit home runs everytime up to bat.... but i will hold your spot on the team... hope all is good with the family...
and again don't worry about anyone else's feelings...do whatever you want to do for yourself...you only live once pimpin...

Re: im done. just tired of riding. no more hyper
Blah blah, every rider that pours their all into stunting gets like this every now and then.
Go have a sick session with some good riders you don't see too often and you'll be back to normal.
Quitting is the easy way out, you obviously have some desire to make something out of stunting so pull up your skirt and go ride.

teach great post bro!!
couple things..
first? how can a person retire before they actually started? welcome to being a privateer. the struggle isnt for everyone. its work...
and when your hobbie becomes work for many they lose the passion. no shame in that. best of luck in whatever u do in life....
BUT...
arnt you the one that not 5 months ago was braggin about being "kawasaki sponsored" and didnt you get a dealership to give you some 2 brand new free bikes.. if so.. bro you hit a nerve with that BS. when you accept a responsibility such as FREE BIKES AND SPONSORSHIPS then bitch out after only a few months "cause its not fun anymore" your pissin in my wheaties.. stunters like you are fukin it up for the many other hard workin people who would love opportunities like that. maybe you shoulda thought twice before accepting the challenge of being pro.
I agree with teach... i like watching people quite.. I love saying I told you so, and I know Im waaaay too stubborn to give up 'cause its not fun anymore. LOL..
if you cant have fun doing wheelies.. you need your head checked!
haha
