Question searched but cant find a good consensus on how much earl?

call me an idiot but i trust you guys and am looking for a good consensus? i'm starting to ride out some decent whoolies every now and then on spirited rides. i also use the bike for transportation as well. how much oil should i be running in my 06' F4i? can overfilling by 1/2-1 quart hurt the engine in any way over the long haul? just lookin for you guys experiences because my bud the auto mechanic said too much oil would cause high oil pressure and oil foaming leading to engine damage. i don't really trust that idiot. you guys have logged the bike miles so, if you could, please clear this issue up and help a stunt-challenged daily rider out? thanks

My advise would be to run your oil to the fill line and to not over fill it.

right now i got 4 quarts in her. you have to lean the bike slightly (10 degrees) to the kick-stand side to see the oil in the sight glass. is this cool?

Re: searched but cant find a good consensus on how much earl?

my wife's name is earl nah i don't want to run a quart over but just enough for BP wheelies and boring general commuting. i figure 1/2 a quart would be about right. so if i have to lean the bike over some 5-10 degrees to see oil in the sight glass thats too much i put in exactly 4 quarts and a new empty filter last time i changed the oil and thats where the oil level shows when i check it cold

5 quarts with a empty filter is what i run and never had a prob. my f4easy has laid on its cage running for pretty good lengths of time and never had a problem. if your bike calls for 3.3 or 3.5 qts run 4.5. better safe than sorry.
just my

I run 4 Quarts with no problems. I'd suggest an oil pick up also.

plugs aren't hard to change bottom line get a pick up run 4qts, or put a lil extra in. if you don't wanna mess it up don't stunt it (or wheelie it)
