bent 905

the right side rear mounting point bar has been bent....now the 14 inch bolt doesn't reach the nut thats welded on there.

i tried heating it up with a blow torch for a long time and then tried prying it back while it was hot....it wouldn't ****** budge.

any ideas?

p.s. 905 is a piece of ****!

Re: bent 905

you must have tried a propane torch....

they don't get very hot unless your heating very thin steel

take off the cage and put the bent part in a vice it will bend like butta...lol

hes an old man so hes up for his morning coffee.

use a piece of threaded rod for the rear bolt. 905 sucks big time! all my buddies out here are sponsored by them and i refuse to use them they bend soooo easy. so ill stick with my homemade cage.

Re: bent 905

thx for the tips

btw, the 14" bolt DOES reach it, but when it does, its crooked, meaning its not aligned with the nut.

im thinking about just rewelding that 10mm nut crooked(in the opposite direction) to match it? think itll work?

try take`n it off and line that part up and get it started 1`st,then heat that part ,this way you`ll have more leverage to bend it.this is if it`s not bent bad,if so listen to OMR,he is old and wise for all of us grasshoppers

lol, i wanna a ****** tygershark but i don't got the dough.

anyway, got it fixed yesterday morning, $50...for some reason, SL was down for a long *** ****** time!

grinded off old welding/nuts...we put the 14" bolt through, screwed 2 10mm nuts onto the other side, then a small weld on it (as it was on the bike)..to get the right angle.

took it off, finished welding, the guy gave it a little black spray paint..and walla!, it mounted right on.

came home, installed some sliders....now im gonna go and practice some idle ****! :YEAH

Re: bent 905

do you have the older version of the 905? The newer style is thicker and less prone to bending

Re: bent 905

p.s. when i called up aaron and told him that the bolt stripped again.

he was really cool about it and sent me another one.

so i guess 905 isn't all that bad.
