Re: it won't fit!

well your no responding to my question so i will just post my 2 cents

if the mounts on the frame are to far forward then you can make it work easy if there too far back then that will take alot more work.....

Re: it won't fit!

get a BFH (BIG ******* HAMMER) itll fit then
no but seriously....measure out your motor mounts on the motor..then the mounts on the frame...then relocate the mounts on the frame to let the motor fit....thats provided you have a welder and all

Re: it won't fit!

how about you bolt a plate to the motor mount [the ones on the motor] that has holes that will match the frame motor mounts or open up all the motor mount holes on the motor and the frame 1/8 of an inch and that will give you enough play for all of them to line up.....

Re: it won't fit!

my boy nick put an 03 600 in a 750 frame and we opened up all the mounts on the motor and the frame the only one he didn't use was the one on the left side that doesn't have a match on the right ,ithink we were just tired of working on it and it had the two front mounts and the top and rear mount so we said good enough

it was alot of work and he had to get a really long drill bit and the one he got wasn't quite big enough around so we had to use it like a milling bit and regular drill bits don't cut from the side very well we also used a long round file

i think if you got a long drill bit the right size[as big as you can without going too big]it would be easier

Re: it won't fit!

I'm pretty sure this is the delema you have? both front mounts dont line up?
go read up a www.gixxer.com LOTS of engine swaps done there. some guys leave those two bolts out others rig something up. Or sell your 750 motor and get a 1k.

I swapped a 750 into a 600 a few years ago and ran into the same problem, same as posted at the bottom of the thread.

+1, thats what i did when i put a 03 600 motor in a 01 1k frame, just a think piece of steel with holes drilled, worked out perfect, put frame sliders in and you couldn't even see a difference. Now if whoever i sold it to trys to put a cage on it they'll have tons of fun trying to get that to work!

Re: it won't fit!

if you leave those two bolts out you will brake your frame from putting down wheelies

the motor is most of the support of the frame

+1 yeah the frame needs the motor to tie everything together for strength.
