the media is rediculous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIw7lpcHyow the reporting in the video is so rediculously inaccurate and their sources for information are cronic liers. **** the media. I jsut feel sorry for half of america that believes everything the news tells them just because its the news. they are tv and need good rating just as much as any other show thus the reason for there "shock media" reporting style.
and also watch out because were I live they got a cop on a busa and an R1. both repo from drug dealers that they now use for highway patrol. I saw them at a car show and had a nice little chat with them. and also for any one in my area they have a plane that flies up and down I55 going from 355 to 294 back and forth radaring people and then radioing to patrols ahead. I read about it in the newspaper and then later my buddies dad got a ticket from it.
and about that no chase law check this **** out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAA28...ID%3D120802250
are politicians are morons

Ron...Keep waiting for the "Hard-On Cop" he hasn't shown up yet! There was absolutley no reference to any police action in my comment only consequenses of actions in general... FACT!
If you know for a FACT how the cop was spanked, Please post it (Discipline results) They will be published in the paper for sure! Then show how he made mistakes and the consequenses of his actions, instead of talking out of your !
Anyway I look at this differently, my opinions mean nothing, I only try to educate and keep people close to me out of these situations.

Frankie.. not showing any ***, just callin it like I see it
seriously though, i travel that route from time to time and so does my girlfriend. what if that had been me or her or one of my friends that the cop would have killed.
there are so many people pissed off up here about the moron trooper, and i dont think anyone thinks he made the right decision
and no he probabley wont get spanked other than maybe he fucked himself up in the seven car pile up he caused, and the consequences of his bad judgement affected a lot of people from two deaths, some people hurt with bashed up cars, to a billion people sitting in traffic for that much longer

It can all be bottom lined. The guy on the bike chose to flee, and in doing so is legally in the wrong.
The cop chose to give chase, and failed to do so safely. Is he then correct or incorrect in the eys of the law?
From the looks of they way things are going, cops will be able to bulldoze people out of their way with impunity, to deliver the all important traffic ticket.
"sure, lives were lost, but that guy was speeding"

OK! Well I specificially try to remain neutral, and reserve my opinion....ONLY because there are variables not mentioned specificially that lead to specific REACTIONS not ACTIONS by police. I travel the in the area a fair amount as well because my daughters live in that area and other family.
(For instance IF the individual on the motorcycle committed a violent part 1 crime, like, rape, robbery, murder, ....Then is the danger to the public worth apprehending him? But the paper only states a felony from which is too vague to actually make a determination without clarification.
If he was chasing or attempting to apprehend the motorcyclist for a crime other than the violent part 1 crime then he was likely in the wrong....and there will NEVER be justification for this end result!
But the Blame is solely NOT on the officer, it's a combination of wrong actions, the motorcycilest is definately wrong, the officers are suppose to be smarter and not make a dangerous situation worse. These are contraversies that have been plaguing our society for many years.
In the future you WILL see technology implanted in all vehicles for remote shut down by police so this can be avoided, it has been experimented with already in the past and currently today.
This type of incident is a devistating blow to sportbikes (owners, stunters, racers ect) and police the same. Nothing good here at all, and throwing blame around does not correct or allieviate the problem now or in the future. This is a no win situation for everyone especially the victims.
But I will reiterate my first comment, The motorcycilest if found will eventually take the majority of the blame and serve time! How the law works! (Not my law just what I see happpen accross the counrty)

The actions of the rider no more redeem the officer than the actions of the officer redeem the rider. too bad that the rider will get blamed for the officers choices as well as his own.

ok, so the biker is speeding and putting himself in some potential danger....but then the 5-0 decides to chase him and put many people in danger and in the act kills 2 and injures many....great job *******! whose is the wreckless 1? but they still point the finger at the bike
