A guy down here was doing a long *** freeway wheelie (couple miles) on his GSXR1000. After a while he heard a slight knocking noise and a lil after that his motor locked up. Smashing his bike down to the ground, he flew off the bike (still was holding the grips though) and almost went into a barrier O_o. So I'd have to say put an oil pick up. Running extra oil can actually damage your motor (yes a lot of people run extra and have no problems but there is a risk).
The best option for a GSXR is to get a race oil pan with a rotating swivel oil pick up. It's expensive as **** though (about $500+) but you will NEVER not have oil. The oil pan is flat and when you wheelie (or accelerate hard) the pickup goes back and is in oil...if you endo the oil pick up goes forward and stays in oil at all times.

FWIW... my oil light will come on every time in any stoppie over about 50ft. On longer stoppies the light will stay on for a good 5 seconds after I put it down.
Dosen't really bother me too much but it can't be very good for the motor after a couple hours a day of stoppie practice.
Running the stuntex on the f4i... and the light never came on b4 the pickup install.

if you pull the oil pan off, you'll understand alot more why a pickup is a good idea, my bike is still strong with over 32000 hard miles....and i have countless friends blow their motors with far less miles and no pickup, so either 70 bucks or a 1000, your choice

Is it possible to blow the motor rockin long endos with this pick up installed? Oil light=no oil pressure? Cant be good

actuator? in an oil pan? the thing turns by gravity... gravity pulls it to the lowest point. They've used those on 4X4 rock crawlers forever...

If you want to make something cool make a swivel pickup for a stock f4i panif you had two pickups... it would just start sucking air from whichever one was not in oil... think of it like this, if you had two straws in your mouth, one in a cup full of soda and the other in an empty cup, and you started sucking, how much soda would you get? and how much air would you get?

I wonder if you hooked a piece of braided brake line to a square heavy weight with ball bearings at each corner so it would roll back and forth with gravity and the flow of the oil

Simply put, yes they are nice, work well and are cheap insurance, but you DO NOT NEED one... i have never run one, stunt the BS out of everything I own, have done 19.5 miles (clocked on mapquest) down I-95 rolling the same speed as the two slower lanes of traffic (55-65 mph) w/ +10 gearing and have still never had a problem...
Keys to keeping a motor alive:
LOW RPMS, my rule of thumb is to never break 2/3's of the redline with the rpms, ie my 636 redlines at 15K, i try to never wheelie, especially on the highway, above 9K...
Maintain your motor, dont overheat it alot, change your oil every now and then, and you will be fine!

but then it doesn't pickup oil during stoppies. . .
I was thinking something like this, an I shaped rail you weld to the bottom of your oil pan with a C shaped carrier that slides back and forth with gravity and the oil... Imagine looking at it fro thet back of the bike to the front
