600RR front sproket on a 600F4i

Hey guys,

My friend just put a much larger sproket on his rear of his 600RR and said he would give me his old front sproket(-1 tooth down i believe) if it would fit my bike(02' CBR600F4i). Does anyone know if they fit? Or where i can find this info out?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it fits. It will only take you a couple minutes to see if it does. Is the sprocket old/worn? If so it might not be a great idea. New front sprockets are cheap anyways.

Go to ebay and find a place selling sprockets. Find them for a 600RR and ask them if it will work on your F4i. If you find a guy there "sumofallparts" there a huge sprocket dealer ask them. You don't have to buy theres but they will tell you if it will work if you act interested.

They do fit, but you never want to use a used sprocket with a new one. It will ruin the chain(kink it). It will also wear the new sprocket like the old sprocket especially if the rear sprocket is aluminum and the front is steel.

What do you mean by you never want to use a used sproket with a new one? I wasn't going to change my rear sproket. I was going to leave that stock and just use his used front sprocket on my bike with stock chain. I believe he used the sproket for a couple months.

Sprockets wear in a certain way and never the same way. SO if you use two sprockets, each from a different bike, the chain will wear in awkard and will be no good. Terrible kinks is usually the outcome.
