gsxr trix

i figure i need to say something useful. most people think u need a special socket adapter to take the front axle out to get the wheel off a gsxr. this is false. you need preferably a crafstman 1/4 and 1/2 inch racthet and a small cloth. you gottaslip the ratchets into the axle at the same time, start with them set up like a v with the square nubs pointing out, slip the cloth in between them so u don't damage the direction toggles because these are plastic and can break. use a mallet to coax the ratchets in if needed. loosen the 10mm bolts in the fork that hold the sloted side of the axle in place. take a set of large vice grip pliers and grip the ratchet handles in a way that you securely get both and then just left loosey and you're done.

viola!

Re: gsxr trix

or you can go to your local bike shop and spend a few bucks and get the correct tool that you can use all the time that isnt goin to damage things that you dont want damaged. i have one and they are cheap. this is what i can see happening. your doin a wheelie down the freeway and next thing your front wheel comes off coz you couldnt tighten it up properly becuase didnt want to spend $20 dollars or so on the correct tool. now you are dead.

Re: gsxr trix

im so glad most of you dumb asses feel the nuts gonna come off on the freeway, cus last time i checked you got the 2 10mm bolts on the bottom of the dam forks that keep it from moving dumb fu(ks! so unless your too stupid to tighten those again it ain't goin nowhere. ph yeah, and using the 2 ratchets, cus the handles are a retangle, wedging it in there gives as tight a feel as you need to get it off, n since you all wanted to assume thats the way to put it back on too think about it.... the laws of bi-force and adjusted strength spell that generally if you can take it off... you can put it back on just as effectively...... wooooooooooooow, im glad i am the mechanic of this group and u guys are just the **** talkers
