Hey Bishop, more suggestions from the peanut gallery here...

I'm sure you already did, but if you didn't... hit these guys up for their biggest gripes about their shoes and then look at who is griping. What is their riding style. If people with similar styles have the same complaints, address those and you have a shoe made for a particular style of riding that addresses fundamental rider issues.

 

Thick soled shoes feel like they are trying to take me out at the ankles.
