No it's not, a parking lot (unless it's a city building) is PRIVATE PROPERTY.

That's why if you get into an accident in a parking lot (fender bender) the police won't issue tickets.

Has anyone got a ticket for Endos????? How would the cops write that up?

Re: No-Wheelie Bill Passed in Tennessee

i didn't read all these posts and i don't know if it's been said so i'm going to say it:

who says the ticket is going to be severe? If it's only a ticket it might be a lot less than reckless driving or reckless endangerment. If it's equivalent to a speeding ticket then i might be for this ****. at least you know when you get pulled over you are getting handed a ticket and not going to jail.

wrong and wrong.

in order for the police to not beable to give you tickets it has to have the entrances closed off to the public, an officer can be a dick and give you a reckless ticket for stunting in a parking lot. And they do issue tickets for accidents in a parking lot. Hell an officer can do whatever you want, and its up to you to fight it.

Re: No-Wheelie Bill Passed in Tennessee

I dont think stunting in public streets should ever be legal.... never was, never will be. stop dreaming guys. we have way to many irresponsible riders and unfortunately they *** it up for the rest of us. I dont agree with how severe they treat a wheelie on the streets.....seriously....30days in jail... thats retarded. I rather pay a $500 ticket ANY DAY than having to deal with jail. to me, it all boils down to making more money. they make more money getting your through court and lawyer and fees etc, and on top of that, you still get the tickets and still have to do driving school. its all money.

cops are supposed to be there to serve and protect.... dont come busting my ***** if im taking the initiative of stunting away from public, in a secluded environment where the only person at risk is myself. should cops go around slapping people with cigarettes in their mouth because they are going to get cancer? its a pontentially self destructive habit. smokers are not allowed to smoke indoors.... but they are totally free to do it outdoors, 50feet away from buildings.... so why cant it be completely legal for us to stunt in secluded areas..... I honestly have NO respect for such cops. If im on the road, and I do something stupid, then by all means, give me all the tickets you want. but if im in the warehouse, **** OFF.

Re: No-Wheelie Bill Passed in Tennessee

I got a wreckless ticket in a parking lot for doing a donut in my 300zx. I brought up the private property issue. He told me you can be givin a wreckless anywhere it doesn't matter. The law in utah states being wreckless is "wonton disgregard for person or property" so you could get one in your own damn driveway!

Re: No-Wheelie Bill Passed in Tennessee

I've had pretty good luck with the cops. Ive been stopped in parking lots about 5 times and they were real cool and said they wouldnt make us leave if someone hadnt called on us. I just got pulled over the other day riden a ss for about a mile and slowed it down all the way to about 5 for a stop light before i set it down and turned around and their was a cop right behind me, and he just gave me a warning and that was on a busy road.

EVERY STATE has their own set of laws.

Jason Britton actually got out of a ticket while doin a wheelie on a public road when they were filmin for that TV show he does. he got off cuz the lawyer proved he wasnt ridin wreckless and is a "PRO" stunt rider.

oh yea, and this was in Cali

Maybe where your from bro, but private property is just that in my neck of the woods, and they can't/won't do ****. And they don't give tickets in parking lots! LOL!

But texas is also a little behind on the times. It's still legal to hang someone in Texas for stealing your horse. :YEAH

Re: No-Wheelie Bill Passed in Tennessee

I live in a 22 thousand city in the middle of nowhere in ARGENTINA the biggest asphalted lot i can get my wheels on is Provincial Route nº15 and Galvez main access.... its a quad lane square with public lighting.... i stunt there... cops once got me.... watched me stunt for a bout 10 minutes then make that silly siren sound and asked me to stop.... i talked to them....i told them that i dont want any trouble...that, "ill go home if you guys want t that way"

they told me that i could keep on doing "that" but i watch for incoming cars and trucks....

It depends on the cops.... i got handcuffed a sunday afternoon (half town watching) stoppie-to-hellasmokeyburnout

i say lets create a bank account... every member will donate 100 bucks... so we can get a ******´abandoned airport
everyone selling their homes... and building new ones nex to the spot
"stuntopia"... **** i need to get some sleep

Now I don't usually care about silly little laws in states other that the one that i live in, but I see this as a possible threat for this to happen to other states as well. We should to do whatever we can (even send some emails) to stop this from going through. I myself have been arrested for doing a wheelie and charged for reckless driving and what a bunch of bullshit that was. I lost a lot of respect for police officers and the court system over that deal, and I'd hate to see a life where you go straight to jail for doing a wheelie no matter what the circumstances.
thats is total BULLSHIT! people should be able to do wheelies if they want. i can see if your cocked and almost killing people just being a total idiot, thats one thing. but for a controled wheelie? what the ****? thats bull ****
