Re: stasis shoes

Hey Bishop, Are you using ballistic felt then or the woven aramid? If it's woven, frag and peirce protection is less substantial, ballistic felt stops sharps. Woven stops ballistic projectiles.

The spectra sheild stuff is fairly good at beating both, used in conjunction with a layer of woven stuff. You can probably pick up Zylon fairly cheap since it has proven to be less effective against bullets than it should be, but it would be perfect for the shoes, because it's a sheild technology, not woven, so no spaces for sharp things to penetrate. Zylon is manufactured by Toyobo corp in Japan.

Next time you want to pull out a prototype, you might want to holla at me, I can contribute some good wholesaler contacts for the ballistic aramid, and can also purchase controlled fibers through my defense contracting company since I am in the registry and NAICs as ballistics, ordinance and combat science.
The heavier aramids are controlled, so the most durable compounds don't end up in the wrong hands, but there are protocols in place for instances where an industrial use is clear and non-threatening.

I don't know if that kind of assistance is useful to you, but there it is. I've got a contact list full of armor companies, weavers and distributors, and a testing facility in MD if you want to blow up a pair for some gangster video.

Those prices are ridiculous. They look like Wal-Mart rip off skate shoes, of which sell for anywhere from 8-12 dollars.

Re: stasis shoes

Ballistic textiles are close to, if not the most expensive consumer textiles made.

The range is anywhere from $15 to $85 a YARD, wholesale, small business.
This feild is extremely competitive and heavy in research right now which inflates pricing. It's hard to imagine a more specialized fiber construct. ***** expensive.

everybody has a opinion..and everybody in america can make a choice... i am here to help the community with diverse products ...they were made by nike and helped in the design aspect by some of the designers that work for dc shoes.... IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE BUYING HIGH GRADE WALMART SHOES ALREADY IF YOU BUY ADIO'S OR DC'S CAUSE THEY ARE PARTIALY OWNED BY THE WALMART FAMILY ..JUST THAT I WOULD EDUCATE YOU and excessa hit it on the head ballestic threads are high as **** by the yard... but i am trying fella

Re: stasis shoes

they are priced about 8 bucks higher then the most popular dc or adio shoe..most dc's are about 79.99 or 69.99 but you guys all know shoes go on sale in store and stuff like that so they can be cheaper... these shoes will add a little more protection then the standard shoe there for they cost a little more and money from the shoes goes directly back to the sponsored riders and helps funds the wsba tour...i dont see anybody getting sponsored by dc/vans/or shoe company for that matter.... we make someting for you guys first and lets make those skate boarders and bmx people start buying our stuff also...the shoes are going to be marketed to them also cause they need protection too but that will be awhile..you guys are first priority...

Like I said Bishop, when the next season of kicks is getting designed, you've got an inside girl on the tough stuff, and better prices.
