05 636 subframe..

Ok basically i have my cage and sproket and i have my yosh pipe shortend. Now i hear the subfram on the 636 is week. I have the 05. Now is there nething i can do to help make it stronger? I wanna get the 12 bar but ive heard bad stories about them if you scrape them the wrong way..ect. Now im thinking about the round bar but i also heard those are for more experienced riders.

I know if i drill into my subframe it will weakin it. But i took the tail off today and it looks like if i was to order a 12 bar or round bar from SI i see to empty holes on each side so maybe i can just tap into those w/o dilling??

If anybody can answer any of those questions it help alot. Thanks!

Re: 05 636 subframe..

i have an 06,the si round bar uses the exaust hanger bolt & the two lil 10mm bolts on each side.

subframe is gaaaabage ,if yo do anything other than gentley tap it your **** will bend.i plated the back of mine, and also welded gussets tying the back & front together for strength.if you dont know an aluminum welder look up hyperrider and look at the way he braced his.you can do it the same way because of your pipe,i could not because i have the 2brothers twin carbon cans.

no scrape

Re: 05 636 subframe..

After youve scraped the stock exhaust on the 636 take a look and make sure you didn't pinch it shut. Ive had to pry mine open sooo many times it just gets worse after every scrape.... or stall onto the pipe.

Re: 05 636 subframe..

Ya my 04's subframe is strong as hell, I have slammed that thing down so many times and its still straight. I am picking up a 05 636 today, what type of cage is the best for that
