Re: Tank Grip
the more grip and traction you want the more abrasive it must be. even the stuff like stompgrip or techspec will eventually tear your pants. its like wearing jeans going down a slide versus jogging pants.
grippines = friction = holes in your ****

Re: Tank Grip
The one guy was right about the stair tread grip sheets from lowes. It is really sticky, and because it was in bigger pieces I was able to cut out theese cool flames for the 900RR.(my first dent too) works quick on denim though!
I plan on using the stompgrip pad on the new bike. Forget the bedliner crap, but I guess whatever works right??
Does that stompgrip come in dif. colors I wonder? I'll follow Aaron's link I guess and see.

Here ya go....My
I haven't used the tech spec stuff, but I would say that if you just cleaned your tank off with something mild, but strong too like denatured alchohol. that just about any good adhesive would stick well after that.
Hopefully you clearcoated over your rattle can work! If your paint is not sticking well, then your adhesive prolly will come off with the paint.
Just be sure not to use something harsh like laquer thinner or turpentine to clean with, as it will heat up the finish work, and make it soft again.

Re: Tank Grip
I just put stomp grip on my bike this past weekend for a show and followed the directions when I put it on, carb cleaner, scotch pad scuff, blow dryer and everything. It came off before the end of the day. It griped great but didn't hold on to the factory paint ont the sides and the tail much less the spray paint on the inside of the dent.
I was really happy with the clean look and grip till it just slid off.
