neck bearings?

i might sound like an *** cause i don't really know what im talking about...but the nut on the triple tree....was extremely loose cause i forgot to check it...and now the front end it ticking when i hit the front brakes...when i tighten it up....if the ticking doesn't stop should i worry about it?....would i ever have to replace the neck bearings?...

Re: neck bearings?

No just get it snug, dont go torquing down the spanner. You need to loosen up your top triple tree so it can slide down or your bearings will loosen right back up....
