hole in tank question

dented my tank...put hole in it...need to plug. what do you guys use? what's the best **** that the gas won't eat through? thanks

I think the best way to fix it is to have it welded...or you could use that quick steel putty stuff that may work too....but I think a weld is the best way to go.

I tried some jb weld, and within a week it ate back through 2 holes in my f4i tank

Then I peeled that off, sanded ti and cleaned it with acetone, and used some gas tank sealer from walmart.. Said it sealed gas cans and gas tanks

It was good for about 3 months, then started leaking through..

Welding is your best bet

Dont even try to rig that ****, just do it right the first time and find a welder locally!

Also how big of a hole did you put in that bitch...

my tank has a 4'' crack and I repaired it with "seal all" from home depot. hasn't leaked since 2006 dec.

yea i repaired my tank with jb weld...how are your tanks leaking?...mine is a tiny tear at the top of the dent theres jb weld,bondo then paint..its got some **** to get thru b4 it gets to me

I am not sure what the stuff is called but it's used to fix gas tank leaks without having to empty your tank its found at AutoZone. I have had this fix on my bike for about 8 months and no leaks. The stuff looks like a black tootsie roll but with a grey center.

I used something just like that quick steel and mine hasnt leaked a drop since I put it on a few months back.
