Are you guys using to paint your bikes? I'm not painting a bike but I need to paint something else and it needs to be glossy as possible using spray paint. I was thinking the Engine Enamel, but not sure if they make a clear coat for it as well

 

walmart paint,krylon enamel ,and non drip clear coat.........engine enamel=gabag

 

and clearcoat can go on over any paint. just so you know. and as long as you do nice even light coats it should come out looking pretty good.but dont use engine paint.

duplicolor truck and suv does a pretty damn good job if you ask me

 

i just got done sprayin my bike with dupli color engine enamel and dupli color suv truck and i used dupli color clear and that **** looks pimp so i don't know what the **** you guys did when you got bad results but my **** looks good

i'll post pics when i get it all put back together

 

i sprayed my calipers on my old srad with the enginge hi temp spray paint. stuff is pretty dull and chalky from what i remember...


but i gotta stress best spray paint ever.. walmart 99cent ULTRA FLAT BLACK..

Dont get enamel, get acrylic laquer. But really if you want the clear to pop get real clear from the paint shop. Acrylic laquer clear is good but doesnt hold a match to real clear coat paint.

 

imma so broke as joke , which spray paint do you use to paint your rims ?

 

I've had some clears react with spray paint and bubble up... Thats why I was askin'

 

 

I heard Duplicolor is suposed to be real good. Check out stunterbob's F3, the whole thing is duplicolor spraypaint. He's like the spraypaint god!

basically if you are using a certain brand of spray paint, it is best to follow with the same brand of clear
and the other thing is you gotta follow the recoat times, if you go past the recoat time it has to fully cure before recoat if you dont you get the fisheye or spiderwebbing lookin like ****.
and since you want to clear use the same brand clear as your paint and treat the clear just like another recoat while you are in that time frame for best results. it'll vary depending on brands but it'll have the cure time and the recoat or another word for recoat.
out here you can go to the paintshop and they can mix any color you want of the real deal good paint and they put it in a spray can for you that has the hardner in bottom of the can and you smash the bottom into it and shake and then once you use it the can hardens up completely after like 8 hours. but it's a way you can spray the high quality with a spray can, check into it.

 

Just went and got some of that DupliColor Truck and SUV **** and some clear. Are you guys wetsanding your base before clear?

 

I used Rustolium (sp?) form home depo, and krylon crystal clear, clear coat. I have to say the krylon clear coat is ok, but I used like a whole can on my tail, and one can per wheel...etc etc you need a lot to get it like automotive looking clear. Iv used that Rustolium Hammered **** and thas stuff is good for metal and it comes out pretty glossy w/o and clear over it.

GOD I HATE COMPUTERS!!! Can Ride the wheels off a motorcycle, but cant operate a stupid computer.

 

Did you wetsand the base before the clear?
