Trying to help a buddy of mine fix his 954...he was at the lot and the bike started sputtering bad but was able to ride it home. We thought maybe he fouled a plug so we switched them all out for a new set of Honda plugs...still runs like **** and almost sounds like a v-twin, plenty of power but has a hard time holding idle...I took everything back off and looked closely but can't find anything visually disconnected or broke...? Anyone experience this before? It appears to be running real rich but it's FI and no power commander

My guess = plugs are fouled because fuel is getting dumped in because fuel regulator is bad.

How do you check the codes? No lights are on...he said he didn't do anything abnormal...for a stunter

I'll switch out the regulator from another bike (954) and check...thanks!

If I start the bike in the garage, the smell of gas will kill us it's running so rich.

another thing to check are your battery cables and ground cable. check the voltage on the battery. do the lights dim in and out when it runs? low system voltage will **** with both the fi system and with your spark so thats why it might be misfiring. usually sudden behavior like that is some **** coming loose
