Re: 190 on 180 rim?
a little off topic, but when you put your own tires on....do u need to balance them? cuz i know dirt bikers just get a couple of tire spoons and charge it...is it different on a street bike sense we go 100+ on the freeway etc?

if you dont want any vibrations yes but most of the times if you even up the yellow dot with the valve stem the tire will balance out.. but i never balance **** any way all my rims are bent lol

Re: 190 on 180 rim?
well ive already bent the **** out of my rim the first time i changed it myself..... this is how i do it now, take the rim off. deflate the tire. i break my bead by pressing my kickstand down on the side of the tire wile using my tire spoon to pop the bead. (different bike)
the reason i bent my rim was because i was using my tire spoon on one side without putting the other side of the tire in the middle of the rim..causing too much pressure on the tire spoon side and bending the rim. if u move the one side to the center it gives you alot more space to get the other side off.
(windex helps to slide the tire on and off)
just take the new tire and air it up with a little windex on the beed and the tire will pop on the beed.

Re: 190 on 180 rim?
The 190 won't make a difference on that rim. I always break the bead with the edge of a board and a good stomp or pull up on the board with the edge of a car tire. Cut the old tire off to save yourself ******* the rim up. Grease up the new one with some dish soap (won't eat the rubber). Use a couple of screwdrivers or tire spoons if you have them. Get both sides of the tire on the rim and use a good air compressor and it will pop right into place. You can light it on fire if you are brave and it will suck up to the bead too.
Width DOES affect the tire coming off of the rim (NOT in this case as 1 cm is nothing). The narrower the rim, the more pressure that is put on the bead, hence keeping the tire on at low pressures. This is why people don't run 10" wide wheels (or larger) without beadlocks on off-road trucks. There isn't enough pressure to keep the tire on the rim when aired down.

Re: 190 on 180 rim?
I roll with a 190 on the back on my 05 636...performance wise it was better than a 180 in the turns, stunt wise...I haven't started doing anything slow on it YET, but I will let you know...
PS, I don't buy tires either...:YEAH
