problem with my endos

well yesterday I went practicing for a bit and I decided to give my endos a try... what I'm doing right now is rolling at about 35-40 and then start sueezing front brake until I feel the forks start compressing and thats when I yank in the front brake... but the thing is... as many times as I tried it, my front tire would just lock and skid on the pavement... what am I doing wrong here??
