Help!!

Ok i just got my new plates for my bike and i decided to put em on. after i put them on i started my bike up. the weird thing is once i started it the bike sounded totally different than it ever has and sorta sounded like a buell and i figured maybe the exhaust was loose so i tightned the exhaust and started it again. when i started it the second time the bike now doesnt even wanna go past 1000 rpm and it wont go any higher just a sort of low idle. Help me! i dont know whats goin on

Re: Help!!

license plates..lol
but i also thought it might have been the amount of gas because there isnt a whole lot in the tank...but would a limited amount of gas make the bike sound totally diff?

well i had the weird noise few times..i just go for a 5 min ride and turn it off..then a bit later i turn it on and it stops..if ur bike wont start turn your idle up a bit and see if it starts...

Re: Help!!

the only major thing i have to blame is revving it when it was just getting warmed up..
how could water have gotten into the engine?

Re: Help!!

My buddies gixxer600 was doing this for a while until it wouldnt start anymore. At first it was just backfiring, and wouldnt rev past a certain point, or it would want to die when you revved it, then it was hard to start, then it wouldnt start.....I finally got around to working on it. Dumped all the old gas out, put new gas in it, changed the spark plugs, and put a little gas in the carbs(that was his idea ) , she started right up and runs good now...hope that helps

Re: Help!!

i dont think a bike charges @ idle, so either charge your battery all the way up, or buy a new one. That should be the first step.
