Re: gearing an rc51?

my first suggestion would be to buy a gear for an f4i and then attach an acutuall f4i to that gear...... really though what are you gearin it for, i hope not stuntin, track i have no idea but i would think even on the tighetst of tracks that things torque would make up for gears

No way. Big sprockets=big wheelies. Don't you know anything. Plus Rc51's are heavy pigs.

Re: gearing an rc51?

+1
the rc51 has a very weak engine it needs all the gear it can get just to get going. Id say -2 front and atleast +15 for the rear

leave it alone honda built it right

Re: gearing an rc51?

i was tryin to offer some realistic helpfull information but now i can see i was way off....... i did some reasearch and found that if you just weld teeth to the outside of the rim and get a custom 5 tooth front sprocket you should be able to clutch it up in first, rolling, bouncing it off the rev limiter............. maybe, youll prolly wanna pull back on the handlebars real hard though

Millions. Top 3 questions asked by new members (squids)

1. What sprocket should I run/do I need a sprocket to wheelie? :personal preference, no

2. What is the best bike for stunting :Durrrrrr....

3.Can I stunt my bike? (insert 1990's pig of a sport bike here): Yes, people did all the time back in the day. But you will probably whant a bike better suited for stunting

If he's asking he knows he needs it. -3 +28 is money for those v-twins.

he needs atleast +8 for that top heavy bike to get it up

once he gets it off the ground it will stay up forever

when you seriously post something and don't know what you are talking about you need to learn to refrain from posting

Re: gearing an rc51?

+20 in the front and -50 in the rear.... its a vtwin i think that would help smooth out that torque....

i hope you are being sarcastic

i will give you an idea, why dont you make/buy a bar and a cage for it first and try 12 o'clock wheelies with the stock gearing and see how slow you can get them to be. that bike should wheelie on command with no clutching in in first gear. if you wanna go ahead and work the clutch it will get up even faster. i have a twin thats rated at 1/2 the torque and hp of your bike and it gets right up with the stock size sprockets (although it is probably geared somewhat lower from factory to compensate for weak engine).

once you figure out how slow you can go with your stock sprockets you can judge better exactly how much lower do you want your gearingn to be.
