Good info, but old. Also way boring...I think I nodded off a couple times there. I think that is the same guy who does the DMV and job training videos...

I thought it was rather new since the video said 12/2006 and this is only 4/2007.. Oh well..

But I do think they should ban trucks from being up there. Thats a little dangerous for even cars much less bikes.

I didn't mean the vid was old, but it is old news. They have been trying to get trucks banned from there for years. Lots of accidents caused by them every year. Then again, they have been trying to get sportbikes banned from there also!

I still want to go before they do that though...been planning a trip for 15 years or so now...

Re: Warning to Bikers and Cops on the Dragon at Deals Gap

holy **** did that truck have to run those corners wide. taking a left corner, the trailer was breaking the WHITE line on the opposite side of the road!

I have never been there so I don't have much intelligent to say. And If i had been there, I doubt anything intelligent would come out either, so. DAAAAAH.

I think that would be impossible.
These Guys From this Knee Dragger Site i used to be on( B4 i got banned from some illegal imput)
They Worshipped That place and Set up a Ride Every Year for a whole week long.. Thousands of Bikes... there would be the biggest petition
and a huge loss of revenue for that town. That is a bikers road there
is no way to keep them off. Gauranteed just my !!!!

If i dont make it this year i'll be pissed. I Love Riding period.
And this is supposed to be one of the best rides in the USA!!!

Re: Warning to Bikers and Cops on the Dragon at Deals Gap

This is an old issue and the US Dept of Trans can't ban trucks from the roadway but the individual truck drivers are advised that they are totally held liable for their vehicle and trailer, if it causes a tragic crash the truck driver will be prosecuted. The prosecution would likely be a vehicualr homicide or negliegent homicide..or similar charge.

In this case the US DOT can only put up warnings at the entrance/s warning the truckers/motorists... Freedoms this counrty provides can't limit/restrict free travel on US roadways/highways.

Has anyome ever tried to rent the 11 mile stretch for a day or two????? Then it would be legal to restrict traffic on the road. Just a potential thought....But i'm sure very difficult.
Someone with political standing may be able to get it done!

+1 Yeah They Should do that.. for the big ride.
Sort of Like a Block Party. Get a petition have all locals sign the document, and get a permit to prevent traffic flow!!!!
