Re: good gearing for a 636?????

-2 +25 is the best setup for that bike....-1 +5 is hardly even noticable compared to stock.....-1 or -2 in front and +25 in rear is the real deal

I see you've been a member on this site since sept of 05 and you still ask retarded questions like this

dam you are all compleatly wrong about an 05/06 636. that bike dont need any more than -1+5. anything above ten will buck the **** out of you. these bikes have alot of down low torq

Its really a matter of feel. Some like more, some like less. Mines a 03-04 636 so maybe it needs more gearing then 05-06 like Hyper said. -1f+5R is a good start though.

Re: good gearing for a 636?????

Whats stock on the 05 636? 45, 46? -1 +5 is just the same as going +8 or +9, so you might as well not lower the front sprocket, save some life on your chain, and go with 60 tooth in the rear. I rode an 06 with a 60 tooth and it was silky smooth. I mean +8 or 9, verus +14 or 15 isn't a whole helluv alot. You'll top out at probably 130mph with a 60 tooth.

i have -1 +6...it works great...i haven't had any different type of gearing so i can't this is better then that, but -1+6 works great for me...pulls great, and you can still ride it on the street

Re: good gearing for a 636?????

stock gearing is 42, a 60 tooth sprocket is way too much gear for any bike that you would like to ride on the street and especially for the 05/06 636. and in my humble opinion if u cant ride your bike on the street then why have a street bike? i just got my 636 and the few times that ive ridden it i already know that it doesnt need hardly any gearing at all. riding it stock it pulls real strong off idle, doesnt have a problem with bogging or stalling. im only going to do minor gearing to save on my clutch a little. and if youre new to stunting then learn on stock gears first, big gears dont = easy wheelies, big gears = twitchy throttle that is hard for a beginner to control.
