Electrical type question

so, i have an 04 600rr. the wiring harness was all hacked to pieces all over the place and it did all kinds of wierd things. i bought a new wiring harness and ignition. but just happens to be off of an 05.

the harness is almost all the same except for 1 connector. it changes from one connector with 10 wires to 4 connectors with the same 10 wires. all 10 were the same color and matched up and everything. so i cut and spliced them all together and what not.

now, i know the bike wont run beucase i still waiting for the sub harness to come in. i need this becuase it has the tipover sensor on it. so without it obviously it wont run.

my question is, the bike turns on and tries to turn over but wont start, for the reason stated.

but also, my fuel pump does not prime.... is this tip over sensor realted or some other issue?

i think thats the main job of the tipover sensor, in case you wreck it shuts off fuel to prevent fire

If its like a f4i, splice the green and red wire together where the tipover sensor hooks up, and tape off the white wire alone :YEAH

Re: Electrical type question

A quick way to check it is to bend a paper clip and stick it in the connector (red/white to green) to see if it will prime. That way you dont have to hack up the main harness.

Re: Electrical type question

hey ****** heres the fix... you don't need the headlight harness to make it start.

this is a 05

Just ground out the R/W Wire.. you dont have to connect it to the green wire..

Re: Electrical type question

My question to you is why didnt u get the right harness for your year? that woulda made life a lot easire..by lookin at the pics there is alot of connectors that u dont have on ur bike. my suggestion instead of hackin it up, sell it on ebay and get the right harness...then u no u wont have any problems
